Our canine companions have always been natural hunters, if you look at their ancestry you will find that your dog’s digestive system is essentially the same as a wolf, despite thousands of years of domestication. Dogs and wolves are 99.8% genetically identical with a large acidic stomach and a short intestinal tract, fit for the consumption and digestion of meat. No greater evidence of their carnivorous nature can be seen than in a dog’s teeth and jaw structure. Dogs don’t have any flat grinding teeth used for eating grains, they have sharp teeth used for holding and tearing meat and breaking bones.

This is exactly why all our products are based on your dog’s ancestral diet which is high in animal protein, with added vegetables and herbs for extra nutrients and fibre, making it not only healthy but delicious as well.

The cornerstone of Wilder is our commitment to using only the highest quality human grade ingredients.

Our recipe starts with a selection of premium-cut meat that we source locally. We then add freshly picked vegetables and herbs that are rich in essential nutrients, along with cold pressed plant oils and seeds which are loaded with antioxidants to help support a healthy immune system.

It all comes together to produce a complete and balanced meal that contains all the nutrients vital for your dog’s good health.

We are fully committed to maintaining the health of your dog, which is why we don’t add any artificial preservatives, flavour enhancers or colourants to our products.

In fact, we rely only on naturally-occurring preservatives and the process of low-heat dehydration to keep our food from spoiling. By using this method of preservation, we are able to keep our ingredients as close as possible to their natural state without compromising on the advantages and convenience of dry food.

Preserving food by dehydration is one of the oldest and most affective methods of preserving food. By gently removing the moisture from food at a low temperature, we are able to minimise the loss of naturally-occurring nutrients such as enzymes, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.

We put this technique to good use, slowly dehydrating our meat and vegetables between 75°C and 80°C to create a healthy meal that maintains the great aroma and flavour of fresh food.

Protein is often called the “building blocks of life” because it is essential to the survival of all animals. But what is just as important as the amount of protein in your dog’s diet is  protein quality, determined by the digestibility of protein.

Antioxidants provide health benefits and prevent ingredients in the food from spoiling through oxidation. They are very important to keeping your dog’s food tasting great, helping maintain the essential nutrients in food. as well as protect the body’s cells from free radical damage.

Our meal is packed with natural occurring antioxidants found in the herbs, seeds and vegetables we add, specifically chosen for the individual benefits it provides to your dog.

We add a carefully designed vitamin & mineral mix to each complete meal.

These additional nutrients help to ensure optimal nutrition and account for any natural variation that occurs within foods.

This guarantees that your dog will receive a complete and balanced meal every time.
